Watching
Live, movies, series, catch-up, TV guide and search.
Nipo doesn’t provide, sell or host any channel, movie or playlist: it plays what you already own.
- How do I watch live TV and change channels?Open "Live TV" from Home. With a remote, OK opens the channel list and ▲▼ zap between channels; number keys jump straight to one.
- How do I resume a movie or episode where I left off?The "Continue watching" row on Home keeps your movies and series in progress; tap a title to pick up exactly where you were.
- How do I watch catch-up (replay) TV?Open the "Catch-up" door from Home, pick a channel then a day, and watch its past programmes when your playlist offers catch-up.
- How do I use the TV guide?Open "TV Guide" from Home: a grid of channels and times. Press OK to watch a channel, and Info to see a programme's details.
- How do I search for a programme, a movie or a series?Tap the Search icon at the top of Home and type a word: channels, movies, series and TV guide programmes all appear together.
- How do I see what's on TV now, and set a reminder?Open the "What's on" shortcut on Home to see what is live, starting soon or on tonight, sorted by genre, and set a reminder.
- What is Pro EPG, with several XMLTV sources?Pro EPG combines several XMLTV guides at once, in priority order, with channel ↔ guide matching, when one guide isn't enough.
- How do "Who's watching?" profiles and the kids profile work? Each profile keeps its own favourites, history and player settings; the kids profile is limited to the categories you allow.
- How do I pause live TV and rewind? From the player, pause live TV or go back a few minutes, then jump back to live whenever you want. A Nipo Premium feature.
- How do I record a live programme?Record what you're watching, or schedule a recording from an upcoming programme's info sheet, on Android TV and computer.
- How do I show several channels at once (multiview)?Watch 2 to 4 channels at the same time in a grid, on Android TV and on a computer. A Nipo Premium feature, not offered on phones.
- How do I switch playlists in my M3U player?Tap "Switch playlist" on Home, then pick another playlist from the list: Nipo Player switches to it right away.
- How do I combine all my playlists into one view?"All my playlists" (Premium) combines channels, movies and series from several playlists, with your groups and order, duplicates merged.
- How do I set up and protect a kids profile? The kids profile (Premium) is limited to the categories you allow; it never shows a locked or adult-rated category.
- How do I record from the TV guide in an M3U player?Open an upcoming programme's info sheet in the TV guide and tap "Record": the recording starts on its own at the scheduled time.
- How do I watch, delete and manage my recordings?"My recordings" (Premium) groups your recordings in progress, scheduled and done, with storage used and the folder you've chosen.
- How do "Watched" marks and next-episode autoplay work?A movie or episode seen past 90% is marked "Watched" everywhere: the Continue watching row, a series page, and the automatic next episode.
- How do I start a live programme over from the beginning? On a programme's info sheet in the TV guide, "Watch from the start" (Premium) restarts the show from its beginning using catch-up.
- How do I use the mini-guide and categories in the player? From the player, open the mini-guide to see what's on other channels and switch category, without leaving live playback.
- How do I set the sleep timer, and what does "Are you still watching?" mean?Pick a sleep timer duration in the player: when it runs out, Nipo Player asks "Are you still watching?" before stopping playback.
- What does the quality badge mean, and how do I change the picture format? The player's badge shows the stream's resolution and codecs; the Picture format button cycles between Fit, Zoom and Stretch.
- How do I reorder my channels and create custom groups?A long press on OK opens the quick menu: move a channel in the list, or add it to a custom group you create yourself.
- How do I hide a channel or a whole category?Hide a channel from the quick menu, or a whole category from its list; find and unhide everything again from settings.
