Terms of use
Nipo Player terms of use: a media player that provides no content, lawful and forbidden uses, licence, copyright, liability, applicable law.
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Thank you for choosing Nipo Player. Please read these terms carefully before using the service.
These terms of use govern your use of the Nipo Player applications, on any device, free or with Nipo Premium or Nipo Family, and of the website at nipoplayer.com, published by 361 DEV ("361 DEV", "we", "us" or "Nipo Player"). By accessing the website or using the applications, you enter into a legally binding agreement with 361 DEV on these terms.
Our Privacy policy explains what personal information we collect and how we handle it. It forms part of this agreement, and you should read it alongside these terms. Buying Nipo Premium or Nipo Family is also governed by the Terms of sale.
1. What Nipo Player is
Nipo Player is a media player. It plays media that you supply to it (M3U and M3U8 playlists, server logins with a server, username and password, XMLTV TV guides), from sources that you choose and add yourself.
- We do not provide, sell, resell, bundle, host, curate or broadcast any channel, film, series, stream or other content of any kind.
- We do not supply playlists, and we do not operate, control or endorse any playlist or stream that you add to the application.
- What you pay for with Nipo Premium or Nipo Family is a licence to use the player software on one or more devices. It is not paid access to content, and it does not entitle you to any programming.
- We cannot answer questions about the availability, quality, legality or continuity of any stream you load, because those are matters for whoever supplies it to you.
You are solely responsible for the content you load into the application and for holding whatever rights, licences or permissions that content requires. Nipo Player cannot technically see the content of your playlists (pairing and sending by Nipo code are end-to-end encrypted, see the Privacy policy), so we can neither check it for you nor be held responsible for it.
2. Lawful uses of our products
Our products and services are designed for lawful use only. By using them, you confirm that your use falls within the following use cases, which form part of these terms. Any use beyond them is prohibited, and responsibility for a violation lies solely with the user.
- Private TV networks of companies and institutions: companies, universities, hospitals or hotels that broadcast licensed content, internal training or live events over their internal network to their users and guests, across multiple screens.
- Licensed content distribution: broadcasters and video-on-demand services that give their customers an M3U playlist to access their legally licensed content with the player of their choice.
- Channels their publishers stream openly: many public broadcasters and independent channels offer an official, free stream of their programmes. You can gather these public, authorised streams in an M3U playlist and organise them with the player.
- Personal media and home servers: if you run a personal media server (such as Plex or Jellyfin) or a home automation system (such as Home Assistant), you can generate an M3U playlist of your legally purchased or personally owned files and play them on your TV with the app.
- Live events and conferences: organisations stream conferences, meetings or services from a secure, private stream address to their authorised members or online attendees.
- Testing and development: software developers, video platform engineers and quality assurance professionals test HLS and M3U8 streams for new platforms, to check compatibility, quality and smooth playback before launch.
3. Legitimate user profiles
By using our services, you also confirm that you fall within one of the following profiles. Any use beyond them is prohibited, and responsibility for a violation lies solely with the user.
- IT and AV professionals: they install and configure the player on corporate display systems, hotel TVs or campus networks to manage an officially licensed or internal feed, having obtained the copyright permissions required for the content they broadcast.
- Hospitality and retail businesses: they manage a controlled set of channels (promotional videos, information channels or officially licensed news channels) shown on lobby or shop screens from a preset M3U list, under their own licences.
- Media enthusiasts and technologists: they want a single, customisable interface to organise all their authorised streaming sources, including free public streams and their own media server's content, on one device such as a Fire TV Stick or a smart TV.
- Small content creators and niche broadcasters: they give their customers an M3U playlist to access their exclusive, licensed content, instead of forcing them to use a proprietary app.
- Expatriates (limited use): they combine the legal streams of their home country's public broadcasters with a legally purchased paid offer, where one is provided as a playlist, to bring their viewing together.
4. Forbidden uses
You agree that you will not:
- use the applications to access, stream or distribute copyrighted content without a licence or the rights holder's permission;
- use the website or applications for any unlawful purpose, or in any way these terms prohibit;
- resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute the applications, a licence or an access, or present them as your own product;
- use the remote activation forms (Nipo code, e-mail activation) in an automated way, in bulk or on behalf of third parties: no selling activity to third parties is allowed;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with the security, activation or authentication mechanisms of the service, or attempt to access our systems without permission;
- copy, modify, decompile, disassemble or attempt to extract the code of the applications, except to the extent the law expressly allows;
- share your device's Nipo code and key, or access to your account, with anyone you do not intend to give control of your device or account.
You are solely responsible for making sure that your use complies with all applicable laws and copyrights in your country.
5. Acceptance of these terms
Your access to Nipo Player and your use of the service are subject to these terms. Accepting them is mandatory to use the website and the applications. If you do not accept them, you must stop using the website and the applications.
6. Your device and your account
The free player works without an account. Each device is identified by its Nipo code and protected by its key, both shown in the app (Settings → My device). A Nipo account is only opened if you activate Premium with your e-mail or buy Nipo Premium or Nipo Family.
You are responsible for keeping your devices' Nipo code and key, your parental control PIN and access to your account confidential, and for any activity carried out through them. You can replace an activated screen from your account, within the limits set out in the Terms of sale (once every 30 days). If you believe your device or account has been used without your permission, write to us promptly at legal@nipoplayer.com.
7. Licence to use the applications
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Nipo Player applications on your devices, to play the playlists and TV guides you add yourself, and, with Nipo Premium or Nipo Family, to use the Premium features on activated devices, on the conditions set out in the Terms of sale.
All intellectual property rights in the applications, the website, and the Nipo Player name and branding remain ours. You may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the applications, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
8. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. We do not host content, and playlists are supplied by users rather than by us. If you are a rights holder, or their authorised agent, and you believe a user is using our service to infringe your rights, write to legal@nipoplayer.com with:
- identification of the work or works you say are being infringed;
- identification of the material complained of, with enough detail for us to locate the account, device or playlist concerned;
- your name, address and contact details, and the capacity in which you act;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder or by law, and that the information in your notice is accurate.
We review complaints that meet these requirements and take appropriate action, which may include deleting a playlist saved in "My playlists", suspending a licence or an account, or terminating the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe. More details on the Copyright and responsible use page.
9. Compatibility and internet service
Using the applications requires devices that meet our technical and compatibility requirements, which may change as the applications are updated. You are responsible for your own internet service, equipment and any data charges you incur.
10. Purchases, prices and refunds
Nipo Premium and Nipo Family are bought with a one-time payment, with no subscription. Prices are shown before you pay and may change; a price change does not affect a licence you have already paid for. Payment is due at the time of purchase.
Payment is handled by a secure payment processor or by your device's app store: your card details never pass through our servers. Your use of a payment method is also subject to its processor's own terms and privacy policy.
A purchase made on the website can be fully refunded, in one click and with no reason needed, within 14 days; a purchase made in an app store follows that store's refund policy. See the Terms of sale and the Refunds page. Nothing in this section limits your rights under consumer law, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.
Because we do not supply content, we cannot guarantee that any playlist or stream you load will work, or keep working. That is a matter between you and whoever supplies it to you.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- The website and applications are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security or accuracy, to the extent permitted by law.
- We do not warrant that the website or applications will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the website or its servers are free from harmful components.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, 361 DEV will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage, including loss of business, opportunity, data or profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the website or the applications.
- We are not responsible for any content you load into the applications, for the conduct of any third-party content source, or for any consequence of your use of a stream you are not licensed to access. Your playlists' servers, which you choose yourself, are third-party services unrelated to 361 DEV.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights, and nothing here limits them (including the legal guarantee of conformity, see the Terms of sale).
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to a licence or an account if you breach these terms, in particular the "Forbidden uses" section, or where the law requires us to. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to put the breach right.
You may stop using the service and uninstall the app at any time. You can ask us to delete your account and its data by writing to privacy@nipoplayer.com, as described in our Privacy policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when new features launch. The "last updated" date at the top of this page changes with every revision; significant changes are announced in the app or by e-mail to account holders.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence within the European Union, which this clause does not affect: where we direct our services to the country you live in, you keep the rights its law gives you and may bring proceedings there. In case of a dispute, an amicable solution is sought first; failing that, the courts with jurisdiction are those provided by the law applicable to consumers.
