    Next version

    Nipo Player 1.2.1

Nipo Premium and Nipo Family features land in the app, alongside several free remote and comfort improvements. Buying Premium isn't open yet: these features are already there, ready to unlock as soon as the licence goes on sale.

    Premium: already in the app

    • TV guide grid: channels in rows, times in columns, a straight jump to "now".
    • "What's on": what's live, starting soon and on tonight, sorted by genre, with reminders.
    • Pro EPG: several XMLTV guides at once, in priority order, a time offset per source, and manual channel ↔ guide matching when Nipo can't match it on its own.
    • "Who's watching?" profiles, including a kids profile limited to allowed categories.
    • Unlimited playlists (the free plan stays at one) and "All my playlists": a merged view of several playlists at once, with duplicate merging.
    • Pause and rewind live TV, on Android TV, phones, computer and in the browser on compatible TVs.
    • Recording, on Android TV and computer (Mac and Windows), with scheduling straight from a programme's info sheet and "My recordings".
    • Several channels on screen at once (multiview 2 / 2×2), on Android TV and computer.
    • Automatic frame rate and audio passthrough to the amp, on Android TV.
    • Catch-up / replay, with "watch from the start" on a programme's info sheet.
    • Phone remote: the "Remote" card in the phone app, and "Phone remote" in the TV's settings.
    • Start on live TV and OLED protection (shifting and dimming static elements).
    • Mes playlists, from your account on nipoplayer.com: save a playlist so it reaches your Premium screens automatically (encrypted on our servers, see the privacy policy).

    Free, also new

    • Send a playlist from nipoplayer.com: on nipoplayer.com/appareil, with the device's Nipo code and key, end-to-end encrypted, no account needed.
    • Colour-key remote shortcuts (red favourites, green guide), long-press OK for the quick menu, an A–Z rail in long lists, and focus that remembers where you left off.
    • LG Magic Remote support (pointer) and keyboard shortcuts on a computer.
    • Light mode for older TVs, big text and high contrast in display settings.

    Still free

All playback (live, movies, series), one playlist, favourites, resume, the mini guide in the player, parental control, diagnosis and subtitles stay free, with no ads.

    Licence

    • "My device" in Settings: this device's Nipo code, ready for QR or e-mail activation once the licence is on sale.
    • Nipo Premium (€7.99, 1 screen) and Nipo Family (€24.99, 5 screens): the price is announced, purchasing isn't open yet.

Next version: buying Nipo Premium and Nipo Family opens with Nipo Player's public release.

  2. 1.2.0

    Next version

    Nipo Player 1.2.0

Everything coming in the next version, built for the remote and for the whole family.

    Watching

    • Big playlists: even with tens of thousands of channels, the list opens almost instantly.
    • Reorder and group: move your channels around and build your own groups, kept from one session to the next.
    • Resume watching: a paused movie or episode picks up where you left it, with the next episode suggested automatically.
    • Mini guide in the player: what's on now, next and later, without leaving the picture.
    • Subtitles and audio: subtitle size, colour, background and delay, plus audio delay.
    • Smarter search: it finds a programme even with different accents or punctuation.

    Remote control

    • Smart Back: the Back button returns you exactly where you were.
    • Colour keys: red for favourites, green for the guide, outside the player and inside it.
    • Long-press OK: a quick menu (favourite, hide, move) on a channel row or a poster.
    • Number-pad zapping, previous channel in one press, channel + and −.
    • Your phone as a remote once paired: arrows, OK, Back, typing, voice search.

    TV guide

    • Channels × time grid by touch or remote, jump straight to "now", switch days.
    • Programme sheet: get reminded, watch from the start, or watch now.
    • Your own guide: add an XMLTV link if your playlist doesn't provide one.
    • Lighter loading: the guide shows at once from memory, then refreshes.

    Comfort

    • Starts on the last channel you watched.
    • OLED-friendly screen: fixed elements shift slightly and dim to avoid burn-in.
    • Light mode for older TVs, switched on automatically when needed.
    • Big text and high contrast in the display settings.
    • Automatic resume after a network drop or the TV waking up.
    • "Still watching?" after a long pause, to save the screen.

    Reliability

    • Better Samsung playback: the TV's native engine is used when possible, with an automatic fallback otherwise.
    • More reliable text fields on TV: the on-screen keyboard no longer traps the remote inside forms.
    • Phone pairing page refreshed to match the app's light theme.
    • Clearer playback diagnosis when something doesn't work, with a report you can copy for support.

Next version: these changes ship with Nipo Player's public release.
