Best M3U player 2026: comparison
Nine well-known players compared with Nipo Player on what matters: real price, refund, devices, TV guide. None of them supplies channels, Nipo included: you bring your own playlist, which must be legal.
Nipo Player does not provide, sell or host any content. Use it with playlists you are legally allowed to access.
How we compare
Every fact comes from the player’s official site or store listing, with the date and quote kept in our repository. When a site no longer answers, we use its latest archived copy and say so. Anything unpublished is marked "Not stated". Always buy from the developer’s site or your device’s store.

This list applies to any player, not just ours.
- Supported devices
- Check that your exact TV, box or phone is supported before buying, not just "Android" in general.
- Pricing model
- Per device, per household, per prepaid credit: a headline price means nothing without knowing what it covers.
- One-time or recurring
- A "lifetime" payment can sit next to recurring plans. Read the terms, not just the headline number.
- Devices per purchase
- One screen? The whole home? How many devices are included changes the whole real-price calculation.
- Refund
- Some sites promise a refund without saying the number of days or the method: read the dedicated page, not the slogan.
- TV guide / XMLTV
- A real grid guide (not just "now / next") depends on your playlist or a separate XMLTV file.
- Catch-up (replay)
- Catch-up isn’t a magic setting: your playlist announces it, or not, channel by channel.
- Parental control
- A real PIN code, or better a kids profile, protects better than a simple category filter.
- Phone remote control
- Typing a playlist address with a TV remote is painful: a phone that acts as a remote avoids that.
- Content provided
- An honest player doesn’t sell, supply or host any channel: you bring your own playlist, and it must be legal.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best M3U player in 2026?
It depends on your screen. On Android TV alone, TiviMate is very complete. On Apple TV, look at UniPlayer or GSE Smart. For Samsung, LG and several screens on one purchase, Nipo Player is built for that.
Is an M3U player legal?
Yes: a player is software, like VLC. It’s the content that must be legal. Nipo Player supplies no channel or playlist; you are responsible for the one you add.
Can I keep my playlist when I switch players?
Yes. An M3U link or an Xtream login (server, username, password) works in any compatible player, Nipo Player included.
Is Nipo Player free?
Yes, the player is free with no ads. Nipo Premium (€7.99, 1 screen) and Nipo Family (€24.99, 5 screens) add features, in one payment.
Try Nipo Player on your TV
The player is free on TV, phone and computer. You add your own playlist.
