Installation, step by step

  1. Google Play

Search for “Nipo Player” on Google Play from your Android TV box or TV, and install it.

  2. Or the APK file

An APK file is offered on this page for manual install.

  3. First launch

Open Nipo Player: the home screen appears, ready for you to add a playlist.

Android TV

First setup: scan with your phone

Once the app is open, it shows a QR code. Scan it with your phone, then type your playlist’s address on the phone’s screen.

Adding a playlist: QR code with your phone, or typing it

Android TV remote

Android TV remotes vary by manufacturer. Most have a D-pad, OK, Back, Home and Play/Pause; some add colour keys.

Back

Closes menus and hides the controls before exiting: never a dead end.

Long-press OK

On a channel or a poster, holding it opens a quick menu (favourite, hide, move).

Colour keys

If your remote has them: red = favourite, green = mini guide, yellow = audio track, blue = subtitles, inside the player.

Android TV home

Nipo adds a “Continue watching” row and a favourite-channels row on the classic Android TV home screen.

Limits on this device

  • The “Continue watching” home row depends on your device’s launcher: it appears on the classic Android TV home screen, not guaranteed on Google TV.

Free vs Premium (Nipo Premium or Family)

Free
  • Live TV, movies, series, search

  • Several playlists + Mes playlists
  • Profiles, including a kids profile
  • Pro EPG and What’s on

When something goes wrong

  • The “Continue watching” row doesn’t show

It appears on the classic Android TV home screen. On Google TV it isn’t guaranteed (see the Google TV page).

  • My remote has no colour keys

Use the quick-menu shortcut (long-press OK) or the on-screen buttons instead: nothing is locked behind colour keys.

  • Nothing happens when opening a channel

Nipo shows a step-by-step diagnosis (connection, account, channel) and a report you can copy for support.

  • The app won’t install

Check that Android TV is up to date and that your box allows the install source you’re using (Google Play or the manual file).
