What does the quality badge mean, and how do I change the picture format?
The player's badge shows the stream's resolution and codecs; the Picture format button cycles between Fit, Zoom and Stretch.
Nipo doesn’t provide, sell or host any channel, movie or playlist: it plays what you already own.
Both of these stay free, no Premium needed: they're about how the stream is displayed, not its content.
The quality badge
- In the player, a badge shows up to three details about the current stream: resolution (SD, HD, FHD, 4K, 8K), video codec (H.264, HEVC, AV1…) and audio codec (AAC, E-AC3…).
- This information comes straight from the stream sent by your playlist's server: Nipo Player shows it as is, without changing it.
- The badge only appears when the player could detect it; some streams don't report it.
Picture format
- Tap the Picture format icon in the player (or the A key on computer).
- Each tap cycles through three formats: Fit (the whole picture, no cropping), Zoom (fills the screen, edges may be cropped) and Stretch (fills the screen without cropping, the picture may look distorted).
- The chosen format is remembered for that channel, movie or series, and reused next time you open it.
Tip
A stream with black bars on the sides or top/bottom often looks better in Zoom; a picture stretched sideways (people looking too wide) usually points to a problem in the stream itself, worth trying to fix with Fit instead.
