Nipo Player

What does Nipo Player collect about me?

The free app asks for no account: your playlists and settings stay on your device. Only the device's Nipo code is registered, with no name or e-mail.

Nipo doesn’t provide, sell or host any channel, movie or playlist: it plays what you already own.

Nipo Player is built to store as little as possible.

With the free app

  1. Your playlists, favorites, settings and watch history are saved only on your device, never sent to our servers.

  2. No account, e-mail address or name is asked for to use the free app.

  3. QR pairing (adding a playlist, transferring to a new device) goes through an end-to-end encrypted relay: see QR pairing security.

  4. On first launch, the app registers the device's Nipo code (a hashed identifier, never the MAC address), its platform, model, versions and a public encryption key. That is what lets you send it a playlist from nipoplayer.com or activate Premium on it. No name, no e-mail, nothing about what you watch.

With a Premium or Family account

The account uses your e-mail address, your purchase history and the Nipo codes of your devices, needed to run the licence. The optional My playlists feature saves your playlists on our servers, encrypted at rest (though not end-to-end, unlike the QR code). Everything is detailed in our privacy policy.

Tip

To start fresh, uninstalling the app is enough: your setup (playlists, favourites, settings) exists only on this device.
