Nipo Player

Is My playlists end-to-end encrypted?

No: My playlists is encrypted on our servers, but not end-to-end. The free Nipo code push stays end-to-end encrypted and doesn't need Premium.

Nipo doesn’t provide, sell or host any channel, movie or playlist: it plays what you already own.

My playlists is the Premium and Family feature that saves your playlists on your account to send them to your screens without retyping them.

What to know

  1. Under My account → My playlists, add a playlist and choose which devices to send it to (one, several, or "All my devices", including ones added later).
  2. My playlists is encrypted on our servers (encryption at rest). This is not end-to-end encryption: our service can decrypt them to send them to your devices.
  3. To send a playlist without it being stored with us, use the Nipo code push (end-to-end encrypted, free, no Premium needed): see Send a playlist from the website.
  4. Technically, each account has its own encryption key, itself wrapped by a master key that only the device-delivery function can use; every decryption is logged.

Tip

If end-to-end privacy matters more to you than the convenience of sending to several screens at once, prefer the Nipo code push over My playlists: it's free and doesn't need Premium.
