"Format not supported by this device": what should I do?
The stream arrives, but this device can't decode it (often HEVC/H.265 or 4K video): try another version of the channel.
Nipo doesn’t provide, sell or host any channel, movie or playlist: it plays what you already own.
Some older devices, or some browsers, can't decode every video format. This isn't an account or network problem: it's a hardware limit of the device for this specific stream.
Steps
- If different versions of the channel exist, try another one offered directly under the message (often an HD version instead of 4K/UHD is enough).
- Try watching this same channel from another device (phone, a newer computer) to confirm the stream itself works.
- If the problem affects many channels on an older TV, see the light mode under Settings → Display and start, built for older televisions.
Tip
The most demanding formats (HEVC/H.265, 4K, some audio streams) need a decoder that older devices don't have: this can't be changed from Nipo Player or from your playlist's server — a less demanding version of the same channel is the best fix.
This page stays text-only, with no screenshots: this message depends on each device's own hardware decoder, which a browser can't honestly reproduce for a generic screenshot.
